Rules and payment terms
Holy Map is a public novelty map. You pay to have a country show the flag of the nation you picked and your name until someone else pays more. It is an entertainment purchase, not a bet: there is no prize, no payout and no element of chance. Holy Map is a game and not a political statement about any country, border or people. By paying you agree to everything on this page.
Pricing
- Prices are whole US dollars.
- A country nobody has claimed costs $5.
- A country somebody holds costs exactly $1 more than the last price paid for it, whoever pays and whichever nation they choose.
- You may claim a country for the nation that already holds it, or for itself. This changes the holder name and raises the price.
- A completed payment is what creates a claim. If two people pay for the same country at nearly the same time, the payment processed first wins. If the second payment is below the new price, it is refunded automatically. That is the only refund we issue.
Your name on the map
- 2 to 24 characters. Letters, numbers, spaces and basic punctuation.
- Prohibited: slurs, hate speech, insults aimed at any nation, ethnicity or group, glorification of violence or war crimes, impersonation of officials or institutions, anything illegal, and links.
- We may rename any claim to "Anonymous", revert a claim, or hide a country at any time, at our sole discretion, without a refund.
What we store
- The name you type is whatever you choose and is shown publicly on the map next to the country. Do not put anything there you would not want public. It is not verified and we do not ask who you are.
- Your email address is collected by our payment provider at checkout and passed to us. We store it against your claim for one reason: to tell you when somebody takes your country, with a link to take it back. It is never shown publicly, never sold and never used for marketing.
- Nothing else. No accounts, no passwords, no profiles and no advertising trackers.
Write to dzaferovicbenjamin@gmail.com to get a copy of what we hold about you, to have your email removed, or to have a claim renamed to "Anonymous".
Right of withdrawal
Buying a claim is a distance purchase of digital content that is delivered immediately. When you confirm a purchase you expressly ask for it to go live at once and you acknowledge that, once it is live, your statutory 14 day right of withdrawal no longer applies. If you would rather keep that right, do not buy: there is no way to delay delivery.
Payments, refunds and chargebacks
Apart from the automatic refund described above, sales are final and there are no payouts, including for claims removed for breaking these rules. If you have a problem, write to dzaferovicbenjamin@gmail.com before starting a dispute. Chargebacks result in a ban. Payments are processed by our payment provider and their terms also apply.
The fine print
The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of uptime, permanence or that anyone will see your claim. Borders and the list of countries come from Natural Earth and are illustrative only, not a statement on any territorial dispute. Flags are shown as team colors. We may change these rules or prices at any time. To the extent permitted by law our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the claim in question.
